ABOUT US – EXCLUSIVE HOMES REALTY
We, Ross and Paula Pirie both from a financial background, were looking to escape the rat race after having spent two decades in the corporate world so we decided to re-locate to Hartbeespoort in 2003. We commuted to and from Johannesburg for a further 6 years until in 2010 a Realty License for Hartbeespoort, through a well-known international realty group, presented itself which we bought into.
While building the franchise, gaining the necessary realty experience and extensive knowledge of our surroundings Paula qualified, through the relevant authorities, and has achieved Principal status. A business decision was taken in early 2015 not to renew our License Agreement but rather establish our own realty brand namely Exclusive Homes Realty (Pty) Ltd.
HARTBEESPOORT BACKGROUND
Hartbeespoort has become a sought after area for investors and those seeking, like we did, a reprieve from the rat race of city living. The area’s upmarket appeal and growth potential has also been contributing factors.
Over the years Hartbeespoort has transformed from a sleepy country town and farming community into a fully-fledged suburb complete with exclusive security estates offering a variety of architectural styles. Over the years there has been an influx of family’s, particularly after the opening of Pecanwood College in 2005, that have elected to move to the area permanently given the country like, superior standard of living the area affords. The advent of the “virtual office” has, to a large extent, made this possible and for those that still do commute the short 30 minute drive to both Johannesburg and Pretoria has been made easier courtesy, in particular, of the upgrade to the R512 that runs past Lanseria.
Pecanwood Golf Estate is arguably the most popular estate in the area however over the past decade or so there are many other estates that have flourished and now compete with Pecanwood in the residential property market. Pecanwood, like the other estates in the area, offers a secure, outdoor lifestyle complete with boating, sailing, mountain biking and of course golf, courtesy of the award winning Jack Nicklaus golf course and other surrounding golf courses. Pecanwood College, which provides tuition from Grade 000 – 12, borders the estate with its own direct secure access which allows its resident Pecanwood pupils access to the school by foot or bicycle.
Hartbeespoort with a number of upmarket shopping and retain outlets now servicing the area along side popular craft markets. Additional commercial and retain depots have been approved and developed for the surrounding area. Notably a massive R 35bn mixed-use development project has been approved and is currently being developed in the Lanseria vicinity dubbed “Cradle City”. This project broke ground in 2009 and will eventually cover an area spanning 900 hectares. The rental market is also gathering stem thanks largely to corporate rentals. Brits and Rosslyn based industrial entities are also fuelling demand in this market.
We feel that our realty business is strategically positioned to accommodate the needs of the local property market and are looking forward to putting Exclusive Homes Realty brand to work in the area.
